Welcome to Vinyl Encore!

This website service began in late 2001 to offer record collectors and others looking for that album they remember from years gone by a place to find their music at an affordable price. More recently we have opened a retail outlet in Mill Bay, BC – 35 minutes north of Victoria, on Vancouver Island. Our address is 865 Shawnigan Mill Bay Rd, Mill Bay. Visit us if you are in our area. We are open 7 days a week! Our hours are 9:30-5:15 Monday-Friday, 9:30-5:30 Saturday, 11-4 Sunday.

Maybe you prefer vinyl as your format for music? Many do. Perhaps the music you are looking for is unavailable in any other format. If you are like me, you see the record album as the purest form of recorded music. Who can resist that cover artwork in 12 by 12 size?

We have everything from classical to rock to religious. Most of our records are top quality. However, we do carry some fair-to-good condition at next-to-nothing prices if you are looking to temporarily fill a hole in your collection.

Once you’ve found what you like and we confirm availability, payment is simple - personal check, money order, bank draft, or use PayPal for a secure credit card service for MasterCard/Visa. Unlike some services, we do not limit your order to a minimum dollar amount. We ship worldwide.

Here is our grading guide. Not very different from industry standards and guidelines on other websites - albums are rated first for vinyl condition (through visual inspection), second for album jacket condition as follows:

Mint (M)- Never opened, still sealed.	Mint (M)- Never opened, still sealed.
Near Mint (NM)- Clean, looks like it has never been played.	Near Mint (NM)- Shows no signs of wear, corners not bent.
Very Good (VG)- Slight signs of wear - no scratches should affect sound quality.	Very Good (VG)- Slight wear on jacket. Possible slight record impressions through the cardboard.
Good (G)- Some scratches - may cause static but unlikely to cause skipping.	Good (G)- Rounded corners likely, possible minor writing on cover, hole-punched or corner cut.
Fair (F)- Obvious scratches, record will skip occasionally.	Fair (F)- Faded, scratched, possible obvious writing or spine split.
Poor (P)- Hardly playable, Frisbee material (but for $1, the album art alone is worth the money!)	Poor (P)- Hard to read printing, warped or worse!

We our located in British Columbia, Canada. You may find a uniquely Canadian flavor to this site, especially in our Rock/Pop section - many of the compilations have one-hit wonders and other obscure Canadian acts. The majority of our records are Canadian pressings although we do have many US and a few UK pressings.
